BIC Program Manager
With a Master's in Social Work from the University of Connecticut (where she also received her BA in Women’s Studies), Marlene is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She currently serves as the BIC Program Manager where she supports students, faculty and staff with a range of services. Most of Marlene's academic and professional work has focused around supporting adolescents from urban communities with their social/emotional, academic and career needs. As a Program Coordinator and Social Worker at the Achievement Initiative at the Columbia University School of Social Work, she had the opportunity to mold a program from scratch. The program serviced over 200 high school students in a failing high school in Harlem. Most recently, Marlene served as an Academic Student Support Programs Counselor at Guttman Community College. At GCC Marlene facilitated an advisory course helping 1st year students acclimate to college.
