Media Impact Compact
With the launch of BIC’s media track in Fall 2022, six of the major media communications agencies / holding companies (Dentsu, Havas Media, IPG Media Brands, Omnicom, Publicis Media, and WPP/GroupM) aligned with the non-profit organization We All Rise Together (www.weallrisetogether.us) to make a bold statement about the industry’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as well as to make a sustainable contribution to industry-wide leadership, culture, and practices. This innovative initiative called the Media Impact Compact (the BIC MIC) was anchored in a $300,000 scholarship fund that was used to underwrite BIC’s inaugural media track cohort from the Class of 2024. It is also the source of minor scholarships for media students in subsequent BIC classes.
ELIGIBILITY
Candidates may not apply for a minor BIC-MIC scholarship until after they are accepted into the BIC Program's Media track. Once they accept BIC's offer to enroll, they will be invited to apply for the scholarship. Award amounts can range from $500 to $5,000.

>> Serious dedication to study the discipline of media as well as the intent to pursue a career in the marketing communications field
>> An action-oriented outlook and commitment to cultivating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive environment
>> An appreciation of media communications’ role in shaping culture and impacting the business bottom line.
There is a strong preference for students with the following criteria, but all students admitted to the Media track for enrollment are encouraged to apply:
>> NYC residents/students who have resided in NYC for at least one year.
>> Are from traditionally underrepresented communities in the profession of media communications, including students identifying as Black, Latinx, Indigenous, or people of color

A COMMITMENT to YOUR ENTIRE TWO YEARS in the BIC PROGRAM
Scholarship recipients and donor agencies will engage in an enriched relationship throughout the students time in the program. Such opportunities will include: participation in career panels, summer internships, access to employment openings, etc.
