Expertise
The BIC faculty are notable for their depth of knowledge and long-standing experiences in the industry.
Program Director and Professor Michael Doody is a 20-year veteran of the advertising and communications world. He's served roles as a global strategy director and Chief Strategy Officer inside various agencies. After founding The [blank] Project he's had the chance to continue working with scores of agencies, and hundreds of brands. He's won awards from Jay Chiat AAAA, Effie, Mercury, Clio, Kelly Awards, ADDY and even the ARF. He has taught classes at CCNY in Persuasion and Behavior Change, Strategy & Insights and he's been invited to lecture at schools from University of Colorado, to Miami Ad School, to NYU and Columbia. His proudest advertising achievement is developing the longstanding campaign for ADOPTUSKIDS.org with the AdCouncil and fellow CCNY professor Gerardo Blumenkrantz.
In addition to winning professional awards such as the Clio, ADDY and Effie, Professor Gerardo Blumenkrantz leads the Creative Track in-between sketching illustrations that have earned him the prestigious Maurice Sendak Fellowship for Creative Storytellers.
Practioners-as-Professors such as Jason Stefanik have helped BIC students win two gold and one silver pencils in The ONE Club's Young Ones Competition along with a number of Merits and a Bronze ADC Cube.
Professor Benny Thomas, who previously led insights at META and worked at Crispin Porter Bogusky brings his knowledge as both a creative director and self-taught strategist to the students in Shepard Hall.
Recognizing the purpose and power of BIC students, The LAGRANT Foundation has awarded scholarships to a record-breaking forty BICsters since our launch in 2013. According to TLF President, Kim L. Hunter, "BIC students are the future of the industry."
