Bravo to Chris, Amera, Melissa and Carlos! BIC Creatives are CRUSHING it!


The weather is not the only thing heating up this Summer… BIC alums from our sizzling hot Creative Track are scoring promotions, landing new roles and showcasing where a BIC degree will take you! Congratulations to Carlos, Amera, Melissa and Chris!

Chris Villanueva BIC ’15 recently stepped into the role of Director of Digital Copy at The College Board. He leads campaign development, content and editorial strategy, and digital production for the non-profit’s SAT, AP, and BigFuture offerings. He’s excited to use this creative energy and agency experience to make education opportunities accessible to more students. Since graduating from BIC, Chris has held roles such as Creative Lead, Senior Copywriter, and Content Manager in-house and at various agencies in NYC. Outside of work, Chris serves as an Adjunct Lecturer for City College's MCA program. 

Amera LuluBIC '20 recently became a Senior Art Director at global powerhouse Edelman in their New York office. As part of its Creative Brand team, Amera will support different accounts across the tech and consumer sectors, focusing on social impact. Amera has also worked at Havas, R/GA, Ogilvy, VMLY&R, and Publics Groupe. Some of her previous clients have included; Amazon, Amex, Ikea, Verizon, Walmart, Colgate-Palmovie, and the 2020 presidential Campaign of Mike Bloomberg. 

Melissa Orr BIC ‘20 Melissa recently snagged a gig as Copywriter at DDB New York where she’ll work primarily with Pure Leaf Iced Tea (PEPSICO) and Kroger. She was previously an intern at DDB San Francisco, where she worked with iShares financial and Energy Upgrade California, a State-funded account related to preventing climate change in California. Her experience with activations, online video and full 360 campaigns will keep her focus on digital and social media. 

Carlos Matias BIC ‘20 is now a Copywriter at Havas Creative working on its liquor brands and new business pitches. Havas is a French advertising agency and one of the largest integrated marketing communications agencies in the world, made up of 316 offices located in 75 countries. Prior to joining Havas, Carlos worked as a Copywriter at Red Fuse Communications. He has also worked as a Creative Strategist at Code and Theory and been a Strategist, Branded Entertainment at Bleacher Report.
