BIC Envisions the Future of Media with Dentsu

BIC students and faculty attend a career panel and networking event at Dentsu headquarters.

The world of media is ever-evolving, but our BIC media track is always on top of it. On January 30th, twenty two BICsters plus faculty attended a career panel and networking event at dentsu HQ in downtown NYC. 

The panel, moderated by dentsu’s Chief Investment Officer Cara Lewis discussed career journeys, trends in media and what it’s like to work at dentsu. In addition to her high-powered job at dentsu, Cara is also co-teaching BIC’s Media Investments course with Alex Ufen. She said that meeting the students has her and her team “excited and intrigued for the semester.” BIC is thrilled that Cara is providing guidance and mentorship for BICsters - she has been honored as 2020 Cynopsis Top Women in Media and 2023 Campaign US Inspiring Women. 

The panel was stacked with dentsu elites: Donna Dei-Baning, VP Audience & Insights and BIC professor, Chris Pechlivanides, TA Business Partner, Mark Prince, SVP Economic Empowerment, Stefanie Smith, EVP Head of Social Media, and James Spano, EVP dentsu Media Sports. Alex Ufen, Director of Trading Strategy The Trade Desk and lead instructor of our new Media Investment Strategies course rounded out the panel. 

Afterwards, Alex led class at the dentsu office and felt that “Dentsu did a great job bringing together an incredible group of industry talent, empowering students to ask questions, and fostering a terrific learning environment for both students and panelists alike. The students brought a unique energy, passion, and refreshing perspective to the event.”
