BIC Portfolios in Review >> Fall 2022

By BIC CCNY Posted on 10/18/2022 13:09

The Fall Portfolio Reviews are an important checkpoint in second-year portfolio development.

The Fall semester is in full swing, which means second-year BIC students are working hard on developing their final portfolios. Fueled by donuts, pizza and lots of coffee, BICsters shared their progress since their Summer Review. Overseen by Professors Nancy Tag, Katina Scott and Jaime Schwarz, the Management/Strategy and PR tracks met in Shepard Hall on September 10th; the Creative track met the following weekend on September 17th.

The Fall Portfolio Reviews are when the Class of 2023 begins to elevate the substance and style of their portfolios. In the morning, BICsters engaged in a “Mad Lib” style exercise to brainstorm professional positionings and their “special sauce.”  Then individual members of the Class of 2023 presented their progress and received a speed critique. To get a jump on the process, BICsters from the incoming class were invited to both Saturday Portfolio Reviews to get a sneak peek of their future.

The BIC portfolio is a degree requirement; all students must present their BIC portfolio to a panel of judges during graduation week in late May. Final BIC portfolios must demonstrate discipline depth in an integrated framework. They are vehicles of innovation + exploration, designed to demonstrate the 4PS: Product. Process. Personality. Professionalism.

Stay tuned to see the finalized BIC Class of 2023’s portfolios next year!
