Our newest BICsters arrive at Shepard Hall for BIC Orientation and Luncheon.
Last Tuesday, August 20, 2024, BIC welcomed its ELEVENTH cohort, the Class of 2026, to campus for an exciting day a week before classes. As always, BIC attracts a diverse mix of students. The incoming class arrived from as far as Columbia, Russia, Puerto Rico, and Pakistan. Some came from as close as Queens. A number are CCNY graduates, and hold degrees from other CUNY schools like City Tech. Each new BICster also brings their own impressive, varied talent to the table: the Class of 2026 boasts students with backgrounds in literature, business management, graphic design, politics, and so much more.
After a warm welcome from Interim Program Director Katina Scott, BIC’s freshest faces mixed and mingled before getting the chance to sit down with our alumni ambassadors.
The new students were treated to an “Ask Me Anything” session featuring Javier Garcia (BIC ‘15), Shadiq Williams (BIC ‘22), and Aubrey Downing (BIC ‘23). The trio advised the students on what to expect during their two-year journey and shared insights and tips from their time at the program. As the alumni answered students’ questions, many favorite moments and stories from BIC history were retold.
A warm welcome to the Class of 2026! We’re so excited to have you here and to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish on your new journey!
